The San Sheng Yuan Area in Lugu, Nantou, is one of the most popular spots for watching fireflies in spring. From April to May each year, fireflies enter their most active season, and after dusk, they fill the forest with shimmering lights like a sky full of moving stars. The area was originally a light railway route built for transporting timber from Shanlin Creek, and its surroundings have preserved rich natural ecology and a tranquil atmosphere. Walking along the trail, visitors can enjoy the forest scenery while experiencing the magical, romantic glow of countless fireflies—making it a must-visit seasonal attraction in Lugu.
